Looking for a serious, somewhat disturbing anime/manga about children who have lost their "innocence"

I am currently looking for a anime/manga that fits the description of "shows what is darkest in humanity by giving power to children and letting the results speak for themselves"

You know, stuff like

Bokurano (Read the manga and watched the anime.)
Now and Then, Here and There
Battle Royale
Shadow Star Narutaru (Read the manga and watched the anime. Also, I have read all of Mohiro Kitoh's work)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Reading the manga and watched the anime. Personal Favorite anime.)
Alien Nine (Read the manga and watched the anime.)
Kino no Tabi
Hell Girl (some are kids who make the contract) [I watched this years ago and I need to re-watch it.]
Mugen no Ryvius
The Higurashi franchise (Reading the manga and watching the anime.)
SaiKano [I am planning on watching this anime and reading the manga soon.]
Monster (the kid ends up growing up into a serial killer. Well, he starts out as a serial killer and just becomes an adult over the series.) (Read the manga and watched the anime.)

This is one of my favourite genres of anime/manga and I am looking to see if there are more stuff like this.

I am sure I am leaving out some stuff, but give me anything that comes to mind that fits "shows what is darkest in humanity by giving power to children and letting the results speak for themselves".

Thank you very much and will be thankful for anything that is recommended to me.

--Actually it is theme and not a genre. Just my latest picky thing. I'm seeing less animeS. Guess I'm starting in on genres, sub-genres, and themes. :-)

Not all involve the kids/teens being in charge but they sure lose their innocence.

A * just indicates additional seasons, movies, ovas, etc.
I love my 10's, 9's and 8's. I like my 7's and have some regard for my 6's and 5's.

--Kinda. Boy forced through unique circumstance into role of great authority and in charge of great power. Season II introduces one who certainly lost his innocence. Yeah. It fits.
