| Ah geez, I want to marathon Black Jack, but if it keeps pulling off episodes like these, I'll really have to pace it out. There's no way I'm going to burn through great episodes like this. Besides being disrespectful, it would be a complete waste. |
| I remember watching this episode when I was 10 and loving it. Re-watching it now and it's still one of the best in the series. |
| Somewhat corny but still a good episode. Interesting to see a bit of Black Jack's past. |

| As someone who read the manga first it kind of felt completely off to see how they changed the ending of the story like that. They just had to go and make the fishermen look like they’re in the wrong because of a misunderstanding, and they had to just go and give everyone a happy ending. I’m all fine and dandy with adaptations changing things up but this one was just completely lost on me. |
