| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- A typically interesting episode: portraying being an idol as a lot of work and bother rather than some kind of fantasy is par for this series' sophistication. I think the third series has been lacking this kind of thing so far so I'm glad to see it here. I like the characterization of Onpu here; she's actually interested in what she does for her own reasons. Listening to Japanese pop music for a bit can tell you that people making it generally don't care about good pronunciation of English, but Onpu wants to get it right so hard she wears herself out. |
| This episode was good for many reasons. That one bit with Onpu actually trying to get to pronunciation right caught my attention. |

Part of why the series is so good, but yeah, the third season was a bit lighter than usual, so good to see episodes like this again. It also shows just how creepy the idol industry is. I mean Jesus, gravure really shouldn't involve children. All these shots she had in the episode are also taken by real children, which is just a creepy thing. |
