| Maria-sama ga Miteru hands down. I was put off by it in the first 2 episodes and considered dropping, but decided to continue at the request of a friend who told me it would get better. I've now marathoned my way ( between work and uni) to season 4. I'm now behind in all the series that I've been trying to keep up with this season :/ Also Gokujou Seitokai, the first episode didn't leave much of an impression, but the more I saw of it the more I truly enjoyed. |

| One Piece. I thought it would be proper annoying but it's now one of my favourites. Also I thought Black Butler would be weird and kind of paedophilic but it's actually pretty good. XXXHolic is one as well, I thought it would just be boring as this was the first anime I watched that wasn't action/fighting but I actually really enjoyed it, and it introduced me to other non-action anime. |
| It would definitely have to be One Piece. I'll have to admit that I was closed minded about it. I was always intimidated by the amount of episodes/chapters it had and I also judged it solely on the art. After I gave it a chance, I was pleasantly surprised. One Piece quickly became one of my many favorites, it definitely makes my top ten favorite animes. |

| Mahou shoujo magica madoka. This one is probably a popular one. I thought it was just some silly magical girl anime that people were obsessing over and getting to excited about. And then I saw it.... Spice and Wolf. Wolf girl anime show? Thought it was just going to be a dumb show for people obsessed with animal ear/tail girls. Boy was I wrong. |
| Attack on Titan. At first I thought it was cool, so when the trailer came out I was turned off by the art style and chose not to watch it, and thought it was pretty shitty for no reason. Then when everyone was fangasming for it and it was suddenly everywhere I tried it out and was immediately hooked, art style be damned. |

| I have to agree with GTO. Seeing as it had such a high rating, I seriously thought it would have been over rated after seeing the release date, I was sooo wrong. Also, Girls Und Panzer. A show about young teenage girls that ride tanks and fight with other teenage girls? I have no idea what made me want to watch it in the first place, but I'm so glad I did. |

| A really long story. I was 10 (2006) years old and I just discover the anime world with my sister. We watched on TV and saw Kiddy Grade I liked a lot, but before at TV was Yuyu Hakusho. That was the most stupid and ugly thing for us. We didn't read the sub and we played the main characters and make fun of them. That was the start. In the next days we started to read and fall in love with the series. Now it is my favorite anime and the only anime that my sister watch it today. Sorry for my english, I'm not good at the past tensXD |

| Soul Eater. The first few episodes weren't that great, and I sort of gave up on it after a while. I decided to give it another chance and after finding out what it was really about, I fell in love. Truly a great anime. |
| Neon Genesis Evangelion. My friend has been trying to get me to watch it for almost 2 years now, and I've put it off for so long. Mainly because of the Mecha aspect of it. I've never seen one before, and NGE makes me want to give more Mecha anime a try. It has quickly become one of my favorites, and I'm definitely putting it in my list when I'm done with it. |
| GTO, definitely. So it was probably one of my first slice of life or school environment animes. I watched it when I was in middle school I think, so up until that point I only watched shounen stuff like Naruto, One Piece, DBZ. But I really enjoyed it. I really appreciated the comedy, development, and the characters. It's actually one of my favorite animes now. |
| Hotarubi no Mori e. Before watching something, I have a habit of checking it's genres, summary and (if completed) reading the top review of it in MAL. Seeing that it was a romance and a shoujo, my two most disliked genres (exempting Shounen-Ai and Yaoi), I thought I wouldn't like it. But what I watched was something...... magical. It's the best romance I've seen to date, which funnily enough, isn't saying much since most romances suck. |
