Ending/Casca (spoilers)

I'm just wondering why did Griffith rape Casca at the end? I realize the obvious answer (from the way he was glaring at Guts the entire time) was to piss Guts off and make him feel extreme mental anguish. But I thought Griffith wasn't even really sexually interested in women; he could have tortured and even killed Casca but instead he rapes her. Was it part of the ritual? Casca doesn't give birth to some demon baby right?

I read in another post that Guts continues on, seeking revenge but also taking care of Casca, and that she becomes "retarded"!?

she loses her memory and her mind basically. so ya retarded is one way you could put it. and yes casca does give birth to a demon baby. you should read the manga its worth it.

Grifith was jealous of the relationship Guts and Caska had formed.
In Grifths mind Caska was his.
Just as Guts was his.

So Guts left him.
Then he comes back and "Steals" Caska.

I think it was a way of inflicting pain on Guts as well as reclaiming some of his "property."

Pretty much what Jpem said but if im remember correctly it was guts kid but griffith turned it evil somehow?
Read the manga its amazing and goes into more detail than what the anime does.

Sorry for bumping an old post but if it hasn't been suggested already online maybe this is a possible reason

I was watching Game of Thrones and a certain character was tortured all season long and eventually had his c*ck removed.

Maybe during Griffith's torture he was humiliated and suffered the same experience. He was starved, whipped and had other pieces of his body removed. Going even further to remove his genitals seems likely.

Then when he was reborn as Femto he was "complete" again and there's that old saying of "you don't know what you've got til it's gone"...

Plus he wanted to make Guts suffer.
