Touma really should level up his skills, mostly combat training instead of wasting time with Index biting. Sounds like Chairman is training Touma's esper level, but why he in a tube?
Bit longer arc. Feel like I've seen this arc before but definitely didn't have as good animation before. Whole Oriana chase became a useless decoy feels like the trio wasted their time, and Academy City obviously already knew the Cross of Peter setup so had the fireworks countermeasure perfectly. At least the chase & fights were mostly good.
Had a nice story build up but lost it to the uselessness of the trio's situation. They explained away Index, but didn't reason why Touma didn't ask more help from friends or AC. Once they learned cross is to control AC, it's only sensible to ask his AC friends or Judgement/antiskill. And once they learn Oriana doesn't have the Cross, they're supposed to go search for it, instead they just keep following Oriana. The writings just lol.
Admittedly the best parts were Touma with Misaka, and all the parents.

I feel like the author saw Hellsing, didnt understand it and tried to do his thing but his knowledge of history and geography (japanese history included) is on par with an United States kid and this cringe-fest is the result.

I'm not religious and am all for using real themes as a skin to imaginary worlds, but you need to have a basic grasp on said themes (like how no matter how much a hero is changed or even villified n the FATE series, you still notice they did their research in the original) for it to work, but here it really seems like the research on the themes is in the negative. He literally picked a bunch of western religions he knew nothing about, made one the sadistic, crazy demon monster cartoon villains and the others aren't much better with the mess he seems to think magic and religious concepts are, it's just a big cringe-fest that makes it impossible to appreciate the positive sides of the story.

It's like instead of researching to at least do some interesting Inquisition or crusade concept he took his knowledge from an american kid he befriended that had a hate boner against italians

Eh.. Wasn't English church who really flew into the air that not related pilot to begin with?.. I mean, if it's to demonstrate some cruelty of hers or something - English church did this stuff to begin with.. ;D So I don't really see the purpose of this scene, to be honest..
Well, yeah, I had suspicions that Touma might be in academy for reason.. Because his ability wasn't even written in database, when Judgement was checking it.. They had data on other students' abilities, but not on Touma's canceling power.. So it's pretty clear that someone is covering this, and has plans for Touma.. Someone who has influence to correct database..
Doctor with frog face, huh.. Now that I think about it.. Misaka likes frogs.. Doctor is with frog face.. Oh no.. Well, they won't go there, of course.. I hope.. ;p
Well.. Aisa gets really small screen time.. So it's really hard to say, to be honest, if Touma really has any kind of friendly relationship with her or anything.. It's just that.. She needs more screen time, you know.. ;P Or claims about Touma enjoying her aren't worth anything, if it's one scene in 50 episodes..
And in the end we don't even see that upcoming scene as well.. ;D Well, it's more sad than funny, though.. I'd wish Himegami would get more screen time..
City on the water next?.. So Venice?..

Touma is literally a shounen protag there with the flashbacks of his friends before punching the lights out of Orsola lmao, the fight itself was decent with the non-corperative duo making it hard for her to predict of their movements. I'm also ok with how the ending turn out since the fireworks has been hinted at since ep 11 and 12 numerous times

Laura made a really hard choice for Lidvia to choose there, I'm not surprised if Lidvia survived even if it's BS due to how vague her ending was

And leave it to the doctor to magically(heh) repair his patients even when Himegami surely looked dead before.

Decent ending to this arc which can be too long for it's own good during the chase sequences

fine conclusion to the best arc up untill now , yet the final fight felt lackluster when weighted to all the buildup it had .And the reason is none other than the blank slate MC whose persona Ctrl C + V at every important juncture that it had become tirelessly vexing.Moreso when the show underutilises all the fabulous characters which it has under its belt.
