| Well, most people who have read the visual novels say the anime is terrible, and most who just watched the anime without prior knowledge of the VN enjoyed it. I personally enjoy the anime and the VN, so each to their own really. You'll probably get a good idea whether you'll like it about 2 episodes in...just give it a shot. |

| Umineko starts off interesting, but I found it to be having a lack of direction as I continued watching it. It's like the writer/creator couldn't decide on what exactly to focus on, so it becomes like a random mishmash of events that take place. The ending was really bad too, in my opinion. Nevertheless, I'd say just give it a try and see if you like it. |

It makes sense (in a twisted way) in the VN. |

A lot of what happened didn't seem to make sense and the end wasn't really an end. I may or may not pick up the VN one day. |

| Well the VN can be found on hongfire/torrents and the translation patches that are out work with some tinkering. I watched the anime first and thought it was interesting, but then I got the VN when it ended. P.S. Theres more crazy magic shenanigans in the VN and I think it just explains stuff better because its allowed to use words/paragraphs. |

| For those complaining about the VN art, there will be a manga for the remaining Umineko EPs. But it will be a long time before they are all completed. EP5 manga has already started. |
