I'm a huge fan of the horror genre. The more disturbing the better! Give me some recs people. It could be anime or manga.

Btw please check my lists first before you give me things I've seen/read.

Bakemonogatari isn't really horror and it's more on the supernatural/mystery side, although there's some blood, i'd recommend it.

Anime:
Denpateki na Kanojo
Ghost Hound (more psychological but definately has it's moments)
Monster (again, more psychological, but uses it to produce a decent horror effect)
Kara no Kyoukai movies
Kakurenbo: Hide-and-seek
Bokurano

manga:
Franken Fran
Bokurano (anime and manga have different endings)
Narutaru/Shadow Star
Bizenghast (okay, technically produced in America. But still horror)
Deadman Wonderland
Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service
Mirai Nikki

Blood+
Boogiepop Phantom
Devilman Lady
Jigoku Sensei Nube
Jigoku Shoujo / Futakomori / Mitsuganae
Mnemosyne
Night Head Genesis
TOKKO

there's a mix of action, gore and psychological stuff in there.

Mouryou no Hako
Boogiepop Phantom
Mononoke
Petshop of Horrors
Shigurui (not really horror, but could definitely be labeled as 'disturbing')

Honestly, anime isn't really the best medium for horror, unfortunately :/...

I'd suggest Occult Academy. Its airing now and is only up to the fourth episode, but in the first episode someone gets possessed and a zombie gets it's head cut off.

The only horror anime I ever watched is Boogiepop Phantom. Although I watched many other anime that were labeled as horror, they were lacking comparing to the whole grim and dark dystopia that Boogiepop Phantom was set.
