| Actually, this anime is based on the well-known Kästner novel Lottie and Lisa that that movie was also based on. It's not a ripoff, and it's actually quite a bit more faithful to the novel than the movie. Might as well calm down. |
| Welcome to the world of adaptations young one. As the previous poster stated, it was anime adaptation of a book. It happens frequently, if a book is good, it gets many adaptations, be them western movie adaptations or anime. |
| That's right. Plus, this anine was actually made BEFORE the Lindsey Lohan movie (anime came out in early 90s, 2nd movie came out in 1998). |
