| Firstly, FLCL. Good lord, why is that popular at all. It makes NO sense, the style is gross, and is supposed to have all this "deeper meaning?" The only good part about that series is that it's only 6 episodes. The same goes for TTGL. Although I cant say I hated this, I thought the plot was extremely shallow and many of the characters were annoying. It was just empty action that I find it hard to believe appeals to anyone over 12. I guess I just don't like Gainax in general. Bakemonogatari: Waaaay too stylistic. It's too chaotic with all the strange cuts to what appears to be some attempt at modern art. Not fond of that either. The story was alright, but I think it's Shaft's fault for messing it up. The same kind of goes for Maria Holic, except unlike bakemono, the story was also retarded. The only Shaft works I liked were ef. K-ON. Nothing happens. Each episode consisted of the girls getting together for "practice" which involved eating deserts and always talking about the same shit. The only way I can imagine liking this to such a degree as it's rated is if you seriously are in love with one of the characters. Akira: Honestly, what the hell? It makes no sense and the ending is an acid trip. I found it hard to finish watching it and it's just 1 movie. Black Lagoon: This show is nothing but guns and explosions. Nazi's, battle maids, and weapon smuggling nuns...right. Yeah, Revy is pretty cool, but that's the extent of my praise. Gake no Ue no Ponyo. Okay, I think it's time people wake up and realize that not EVERYTHING Miyazaki does is a masterpiece. I don't care if it was targeted towards children, it made no sense and the style/characters were gross. If I had kid's I wouldn't let them watch it. Eden of the East: Boring. Totally boring. Boring characters, boring plot, boring atmosphere. it was hard to finish. Ouran High School Host Club: I was recommended this by several people. "oh, it's soooo funny." Chigau. The humor is incredibly repetitive and made the dramatic element really hard to believe. |

| Naruto. Boring, uninteresting, too many fillers, stretched out for WAY too long. Bleach is ok... If Naruto had no fillers, it would probably be a good show. Then again, most action shows fail to interest me personally. Ah well. |

| Wow, this helps me spot people that have vastly different taste then me. Then I can check the stuff they love and avoid it like the plague.....however, I guess I will play along. I don't like: Naruto Code Geass Death Note Monster Bleach On a side note, Gainax are freaks. It sometimes takes a bit to understand the madness. For example, TTGL is suppose to be mindless, stylized violence. It is both a homage and parody of Giant Robot anime from the 70's, 80's, and early 90's. FLCL is much the same thing, just makes fun of several anime trends from the early 2000's and late 90's. I am an old fan, so I get it I guess, but to each their own. Enjoy your anime my friends, enjoy it. |
