| I liked Mai-HiME more, but it's my #1 of all anime so I'm quite biased. :P The humor was better, the music was better too and Mai didn't get enough screentime in Otome. :D |

| It may look like Mai-Otome had more action and thrill in it from the costumes and the setting, but Mai-HiME never lacked in fighting scenes. And Otome does not have enough Mai in it, too bad. *It's also easier to fantasize about since it is more realistic.* Wouldn't some agree? *wink!* |

| I love both so much But I still have to like Mai-HiME best I prefer most of the character counterparts in HiME And them having bigger roles compared to some of my favorites in Otome Plus the story line was pretty intense Especially with nearly everyone dying or drifting into depression, and then it gets all happy xD Both story lines are wonderful though And I love the comedy in both Even some of the serious scenes got me cracking up in laughter |

| I prefer Mai-Hime mind you its like my favourite ever XD i do love Otome its just that Hime is a little more realistic ( like said by all_about_me easier to fantasize XD) and at times Otome didn't feel as dramatic, i cried no where near the amount i did in hime :P well except for when ers dies >< i still cry at that!! |

| Omg, when Erstin died... That was the worst thing in Otome for me D: She was my favorite "new" character, having no counterpart from HiME Then they go and kill her for such an idiotic reason ._. Aoi's death got to me too She isn't my favorite or anything in Otome But she too, died for an idiotic reason xD |

| I'm more for Otome because I like the amount of history and depth there can be to it. And plus there's always hope for an animated version of the HiME/ Otome fight. |

| Hime. The story is better, as well as character development. They put accent on that whole "most precious person" stuff, and showed what are people able to do if they fear that their loved one is threatened. People can even turn against friends, kill and do a lot of stuff to protect them... And Hime is funnier than Otome... really, Natsuki-chan and that "Gust of Wind" in episode 4... most funny anime scene ever :DDDD |

| Also, as a main character HiME wins to me, cuz Mai was awesome (well, maybe i didn't like her at first, but through my 5th rewatch i started to like her) while Arika is plain annoying (sorry Arika fans, but this is how i feel) i couldn't get myself to sympathies with her at all =__= |
| I think both are a good as the other (in my opinion) ^^b But I have to say that Mai-HiME has left more impact on me than Mai-Otome for reasons that most of you pointed out that Otome lacks some of the tragic moments that HiME has. I also agree that Mai makes a better lead character than Arika! ^__^ |

| Mai Hime was more appealing to me than Otome was, for the emotional value and how the childs were a link to their most precious person. Which would destory anyone's will to fight to anymore. ((except Mai for some odd reason)) |

| My namesake was not shown for much of the Mai-HiME series... T__T But Akane had more screentime in Mai-Otome and I was able to relate to her from there! ^__^ |

| Mai- Hime, without even thinking twice. My-Otome was way to predictable, didn't have any amazing plot twist nor fights, it had an annoying main character and lots of WTF moments. Besides, the hole premise of "maidens with super powers who can't have sex with guys" is just ridiculous. Though, I have to admit that the specials were way better than the Hime ones. |
