The project to create an anime adaptation of Witch Hat Atelier started in 2019.
To transform the original work’s intricate illustrations into an anime, the team and author have been meticulously collaborating, ensuring every fine detail is captured.
The goal is to create an anime of Hollywood proportions—one that captivates audiences of all ages around the world with its story of magic.

I think this anime will be in good hands.

the director did summer time rendering and thats a nice anime adaptation

but production problems is already a red flag this early on when they delayed the broadcast to 2026

"Hollywood blockbuster" and "something profound like Lord of the Rings" are two very different things, especially in this day an age. Hopefully it’ll be more the latter

@Todday Was the Lord of the Rings adaptation movie trilogy not made in Hollywood? Because it sure was a blockbuster.

Wonder when they actually started animating because the studio wasn’t created untill 2021 and the first trailer came out last year which is apparently not pre-animated

Well not really, it was made in New Zealand by New Zealanders. And it was made over 20years ago, Hollywood is different now, they struggle to keep things accurate to source material. But I’m more talking about the book like I think he would be

I just hope that when they talk about Hollywood proportions they're not referring to making the anime too Americanized like they did in Kaiju No. 8 because I still prefer it to have a vibe similar to Frieren's.
