It's always great when I come across a good sports anime or shoujo romance to binge-watch and the past times that I have binge-watched something was one of the two.

Action / adventure / shounen are mostly the genres of anime I binge watch
I just can’t stop after one ep so I end up completing a season or 2 in a day

SOL are anime I would watch after a long day or after I finish my exams lol , they relax me so it’s either an ep or 2 every day or sometimes I would binge them too ( after i finish all my finals for example )

Any of the genres that I watch (which is most anime genres); I'm typically a binge watcher so it applies across the board.

I feel like sports anime/manga is the best genre to actually binge. It makes the matches feel a lot more fluid and the pacing to be electric.

I like binge-watching almost anything that aren't episodic, but shonen/action or sports are probably ones that is the easiest to digest and binge.

I try not to binge these days, but back when I used to, I would say tight action-adventure, like Vinland Saga (S1) or Demon Slayer.

Actually true, I've never realized this before.

Like Haikyuu Season 3, which is one big match that has to be watched in one or two sittings, in my opinion. I can't imagine what it must've been like for people who watched that weekly. Some sections of Chihayafuru gave me a similar feeling.

But on the flip side, some sports anime are pretty chill, and binging might not be the best option. Like Run with the Wind or Tsurune.

Hmmm I'm a sucker for a laid back slice of Life comedy. So those are usually my favorites to binge.

@perseii I think that this is because of the nature of sport in real life. When you are watching a live match of any sport that you like watching tends to be pretty intense and fast paced. So naturally when you are watching/reading a sport anime/manga it feels better to binge through it. This is especially the case with sports like basketball or football where there is constant action of both offense and defense. I haven't watched Run with the Wind or Tsurune but they are yudo and running related as far as I know, so there are not actual matches similar to the other examples I gave. I think those types od sports naturally tend towards a more chill vibe because of this (I think XD).

I binge just about every genre under the sun, currently on the Blue Exorcist binge. My #1 rule for binging is if I find myself checking how much time is left in an episode multiple times I'll most likely not binge it. most important part is a sharp enough hook to hook me in.

Depends on how good the hook is on the first few episodes. That or how fast one can hyperfixate on a show and watch until it's 5:00am (where did the time go?)
Personally for me, Shonen or quality classics like FMAB.

I like to binge watch anything I am watching as long as I have the time for it.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

@DarkFirefly72 Your point made me realize that there's a correlation between my answer about sports anime and shoujo romance. It wouldn't have occurred to me otherwise that they both have the same kinetic energy to me. A sports anime obviously gets you into the game, but a good shoujo romance can also get me invested in the characters and seeing them get to certain points of their relationship is akin to watching a sports team make their way up to the championship final. it's a similar rush of dopamine.

@bucciest Yeah, exactly. Like for example, I think Horimiya or Haikyuu are great shows to binge. I don't think LoGH or Mushoku Tensei should be binged. Sports and romance can really rile you up and I do think they depend a lot on concentrated "rushes of dopamine" as you put it. But slower animes with a lot of buildup that depend a lot on slowly creating the right atmosphere for the story and characters, and that depend a lot on worlbuilding tend to be less favorables towards binging them.

I'm covering all bases—from unraveling mysteries that stump even seasoned sleuths like Mouri Kogoro, to soaking up the comfort of slice-of-life gems. And let’s not forget the Cute Girls Doing Cute Things (CGDCT) genre that brings the fluffiness overload. Then mysticism and the mythical in youkai / ghost! Ayakashi /ghost anime, and also the adrenaline rush of sports rivalries and Yankee .

No specific type of Anime, though I do tend to binge watch anything I own on official physical media most of the time. Specifically because I like to enjoy shit I actually own from time to time. It's also nice since I just recently got a new extremely comfortable leather massage chair and set it up in one of the unused rooms in the house where I decided to set up the 85" BRAVIA 8K Smart TV my wife and I bought around Xmas time (because it actually ended up being too large to set up in my mancave and even too large where it just ended up looking awkwardly too big to be in the living room too). Even was conveniently able to set up one of the Blu-ray players in the room to be reachable to switch out Blu-ray discs from the chair. I also plan on getting another identical massage chair to add in the room for my Wife to use too for next time she is home from traveling around the world due to her career.

Most recently I finally got around to binge watching the 1st season of my copy of "DanMachi" again. Specifically since I recently finished watching the 5th season stream on HiDive. My plan is to binge the entire series again up to the the end of the 5th season. Where I even plan to start re-watching my copy of "Sword Oratoria" too sometime next week. Even stocked up on enough Kirin Ichiban to drink while I watch each Season. Now I just need to get another small beverage mini refrigerator to add to the room. It's basically now another entertainment room in the house. Almost like a mini Mancave but it will be shared with my Wife because I am sure she is going to want to watch plenty of her Korean Dramas and Torture porn films she collects on physical disc too in there. lol
