Are the 2010s anime still "modern" in your eyes, or do you already see them as relics of the past?

No, 2010 are not modern, they are nice little relics of the past, we can reminisce on :)

Not really, 2010s anime look mostly the same as 2020s so far.

I would love to hear what anime newcomers think about this. Do they consider 10-15 year old anime "old"? Would they consider watching anime made in 2010? What about 2005, 2000, 1995, and even older?

For me, I consider stuff made in early 00s to be old already. The animation from that era is easily distinguishable from what we have now. 2010s stuff though is still modern in my eyes. The tone and visual quality is close to what we have now. The medium hasn't evolved much since then.

Everything after 2008 is modern IMO just to cope with the acceleration of time as I become a boomer.

I would think that age and when you began watching anime factors heavily into that in terms of informing your perspective on the matter.

To me, "old", when it comes to either anime or any other group of things, is a term which can really be only applied to the 90s and earlier at a minimum. Or in other words, pre-21st century. But to those who themselves weren't even born until after some anime in, say, 2003, came out, then that date too and anything from or associated with it likely feels ancient.

I feel as if everything which happened from the year before I was born and prior, even if it was only one, two, or three years prior to my coming into being, feels so distant, elusive, and intangible as to be nearly fantastical, and like it might as well be from 2,000 years ago or ancient Roman times.

I wouldn’t call 2010s anime old, but they definitely feel older compared to 2020s anime.

That’s a given anyway.

To some, probably. !0 years is a good chunk of time, even if it doesn't feel that way. We're a ways off before 2010's nostalgia though. Then again, I was nostalgic for any time before 2020 during the lockdown.

Oh yeah...Dragevard thread...Something stupid...umm...putting myself on the spot, so I'll just post this video the almighty algorithm thought I needed to see 4 years after it was uploaded.
