I've been collecting figures for a few years, and i've always heard people putting bootleg figures to shame. But is it really that bad to buy bootleg figures, considering that some people can't afford spending a bunch of money on figures? Let me hear you're opinions! |

| I mean it's up to you. I've only ever bought one actual bootleg figure, and it had pieces missing that the real one had, and didn't stay together, so it looked very odd, didn't keep it. I do have bootleg acrylic figures though. Basically all except the nearest group of 3 are bootlegs. I don't think they look that bad or all that different from the real ones. Nobody ever sees them unless I post them here on MAL. But what I'm most happy about is that bootleg Rin Tokikaze lamp in the background. I was frankly amazed that someone even thought to make that! I absolutely love Rin Tokikaze and she has barely any merch, so I was overjoyed to own that, don't care if it's a bootleg or not. |

| Me too I've been collecting anime figures for a long time but I would never buy a figure made by a chinese company that just steals the original design for profit. Also the quality of these figures are usually pretty bad. Do I think it's bad if other people buy bootleg figures? Tbh I don't really care, you can do whatever you want, it's the same as watching anime on a pirated website. |
| If someone buys them unintentionally then the licensors will miss out on money, which is bad for them. If someone buys them intentionally and wouldn't buy the official ones otherwise, then it doesn't matter. |

| @Cardboardboxy Thanks 😊 Ah I think as long as you're happy with them, it shouldn't matter what people think. Yeah their not quite as nice looking or detailed as the real things, but even I have some real ones with paint details missing or overall bad paint job, and I paid rather a lot for their mistakes 😅 I have actually considered buying a bootleg Junko Enoshima Pop-up parade figure (the arms folded one) so I could repaint it in a different colour, but I don't really trust my painting skills lol. |

Thanks to Boots, i was able to get this NENDOROID Chobits "Chii" for around $20-some shipped... when, these days, Genuine examples seem to command $100 or more. This Savings was especially important; as my plan all along was to mate her head to the 11cm. YMY aftermarket Doll body, so that i may have a custom NENDO Doll Chi~     |

| Sometimes, you can find some pretty decent-looking ones at a good price. Buy whatever you want; bootleg merchandise can be pretty cool. |
