| Hard to overstate how impressed I am with the general quality of characterisation in this anime. But with such a passive, sedentary competition in pachislo, this multifaceted psychological sparring and symbolism is almost obligated to compensate for it. Only thing I still find goofy is Ginya hyping himself up by yelling in a fashion befitting some cheesy battle shounen character. Just a nitpick, of course. |
