Did Commander White know about the reality of project YoRHa?

As we know commander white assigned execution models to Scanner models especially 9S because they penetrate through the bunker's data easily and know the truth. 2B also knew about the truth and I think Commander white also knew about it. So why did they still continue to fight? Why commander white pretended to talk to humanity on the moon while knowing there was no humanity and carried out their orders? Any theories?

nah the commander did not know the whole truth obviously considering they are surprise by the higher ups being infected by the machine lifeforms all along like the red girls

Depends on what you mean by "the truth". She did know that humanity was extinct but chose to continue with the mission anyway for the sake of the androids. One can only assume that if they managed to wipe out the machines once and for all that they would get some sort of peace. She didn't know everything though

The game states she did not know the members of Yorha were machines rather than androids.
