The official website of the Tono to Inu (The Lord and the Dog) television anime revealed the main cast and a key visual (pictured) on Saturday. The anime series adapting Rie Nishida's historical slice of life manga will begin airing in October 2024.

Voice actors Akio Ootsuka (Ore, Tsushima), Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama), Masaki Aiba from boy band Arashi, and Shunsuke Takeuchi (Vinland Saga Season 2) are starring as Lord.

Nishida originally posted the manga on their Twitter account in November 2020 before beginning a short-term serialization on the Comic Polaris web magazine in March 2021. Regular serialization began in the magazine in October that year. Flex Comix released the third volume on February 15, with the fourth volume planned for an October 15 release.
