Studio Eclypse Drops Berserk Trailer!

Today, Studio Eclypse dropped the first trailer for their fanmade adaptation of Berserk, which you can now watch on their official youtube channel!
The anime is said to come out in Summer 2025.

Obviously, since this is a Berserk trailer, I had to go frame by frame, so here are some of my favorite screenshots from the trailer: (slight spoiler warning)

While it's true that some scenes need a bit more polish, I think the trailer looks great and I honestly can't wait for summer 2025. Also the art style is so fitting for Berserk!

What are you thoughts on the trailer? Will studio Eclypse dissapoint? Is a good anime adaption of Berserk impossible?

Berserk isn't a particularly difficult manga to adapt in terms of pacing, structure and layout, compared to some others like Punpun.

The problem is that everyone will always compare it to Miura's art, and having consistent animation that would satisfy it is near impossible due to the profit-based schedules production houses have these days. Even if they took their time, it would take way too long to make one while remaining faithful to the art.

What we need isn't a faithful adaptation that replicates the art perfectly, but something similar to JJK Season 2, where it's more about understanding the heart and tone of the story, and ADAPTING it, instead of just blindly animating it.

Studio Eclypse's work looks amazing, based on their resources and time. Really looking forward to it, cause the coloring and composition looks incredible. Animation is a bit choppy, but we still have more than a year to go, so that isn't a problem.

Even then, I still hope we get a proper, professional adaptation some day.

First we have the trailer for the next movie for Madoka Magica after 10 years, then we had new season of Monogatari announced, and now we have this. What will happen next? NGNL 2? BRS remake? The Second Advent?

A lot of it looked very good and professional, and a lot of it looked jarring. I kind of expected a bit more considering how much hype this project received online, but it seems in the end it's just an overzealous fan work.

Let's only hope it'll come out and this trailer is not the reason to hype people into buying their overpriced patreon's membership. Also these clunky movements... They need to fix that.
