Yes, I just came to say this. It's an opening appreciation thread. I've been listening to this opening for years. It has an enchanting, mysterious atmosphere and a melody that makes you feel peaceful yet very, very lonely. And the visuals and stone animations support this very well. Best opening hands down.

The same goes for the ending except it's sadder but the opening is whole another level.

Yes, I randomly got the OP recommended to me on youtube, and that was what led me to watch the anime and continue to the manga.

It's incredibly rich, the more you listen the more detail you can pick up.

The soundtrack in general is the most underrated element of this show. Every scene is matched perfectly. You could watch this show without dialogue and still be able to follow the story just fine.

but yes, the OP is also amazing itself. I spent days trying to break it down when I first watched the show, since it's such an unusual rhythm.

It stands out as an opening, that's for sure. I'll refrain from proclaiming the OP as a masterpiece for now, due to reservation with regards to my own experience. That being said, it's worth iterating this is definitely among the better OPs I've encountered.
