 The Gimai Seikatsu (Days with My Step Sister) special stage at the Kadokawa booth at AnimeJapan 2024 revealed additional cast, staff, teaser promotional video, and a second teaser visual (pictured) on Sunday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in July 2024.Chikahiro Kobayashi (Golden Kamuy) and Reina Ueda (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) are joining the cast as Taichi Asamura and Akiko Ayase, respectively. Mitsutaka Hirota (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) is handling the series composition and Manabu Nii (Akiba Meido Sensou) is designing the characters. The anime adapts Ghost Mikawa's romantic comedy light novel which began on a YouTube channel they launched for the series in April 2020. Kadokawa began publishing the series under its MF Bunko J imprint in January 2021, featuring illustrations by Hiten. The tenth volume shipped on January 25. Yumika Kanade began drawing a manga adaptation on the Shounen Ace Plus web magazine in July 2021. Kadokawa published the third volume in September 2023. Yen Press licensed both light novel and manga in English in 2023. The light novel's third volume is scheduled to go on sale on June 28 and the manga's first volume will release on May 21.
