If they start adapting the final arc "The Infinite Dimensional Fortress" or wth is the name, when the season is just called "Hashira Training" it's IMO really bad as a name and communication

I have a theory that 4 or 5 episodes in they'll rebrand the entire season.

From the past 3 seasons, all KNY opening songs are the most viewed songs in the career of the artists who performed them. It is safe to say KNY boost the popularity of LiSA, Aimer, Milet, and Man With A Mission.
Here are the proof from their Youtube channels
LiSA: https://www.youtube.com/@lisaSMEJ/videos
Homura and Gurenge have 308 and 103 million of views, respectively.
Aimer: https://www.youtube.com/@aimerSMEJ/videos
Zankyosanka has 202 million of views. Aimer's second most popular song had only 55 million of views.
Man With A Mission: https://www.youtube.com/@mwamjapan8665/videos
Kizuna no Kiseki has 68 million of views. My Hero used to be their most popular song, which had only 19 million of views.
Milet: https://www.youtube.com/@miletOfficialYouTubeChannel/videos
Although Koi Kogare is just an ED song, in just 9 months, it achieved 21 million of views. The song's achievement is equal to Milet's second most loved song, Inside you, which was released 5 years ago.

From the data above, it is not exaggerating to say that artists need to compete each other to perform OP/ED songs for KNY in the future to gain more popularity.

It's crazy to say "only 55 milions" or "only 19 milions" but i get it

Sorry, but all of those artists were popular before KNY. You could say that they achieved a new level of popularity outside Japan, but most of them (with the exception of milet) have a lot of songs that are opening themes and are well-known in the genre/industry. However, those anime didn’t have the same level of popularity among foreigners as KNY does.

wth! I mean, MY FIRST STORY is really well known in Japan (but they usually don’t do anime opening themes), and HYDE is none other than HYDE from L’arc~en~ciel, one of the most popular bands from Japan alongside X-Japan. They are one of the few Japanese bands that did manage to make an almost sold out presentation in Madison Square Garden.

The thing is, they are not part of the anime music industry. But believe me when I say that they are more popular than any other artist who has performed KNY openings/endings before. Due to their popularity, they are even capable of touring outside Japan.

@orkxxv I don't think Elvarth ever said they weren't popular before KnY though, lol. He's just pointing out the statistics that show all of these artists' most successful songs are the ones they did for KnY.

The guy who said "unpopular artists" I kind of agree with though. It's obviously a bit of an exaggeration - any artist signed under a major label and in the music industry is "popular." But when I think of "popular" I'm thinking YOSAOBI, Ado, King Gnu, Vaundy, Lisa, Eve, Hikaru Utada etc. - huge sales, streaming, and charting figures. You say MY FIRST STORY is well known in Japan, but their discography is lacking the stats to back that up. Their last charting song was from 3 years ago (it is their biggest song though and has done well); their albums have abysmally low first week sales, and none of their songs or albums are certified.

Yes, HYDE's band was extremely popular, but their last studio album was over a decade ago, their last charting song, similarly to MY FIRST STORY, was 3 years ago, and they have no presence on Spotify. HYDE himself similarly has no presence on Spotify, his solo stuff did well 20 years ago, but in current day he hasn't charted a single in 4 years, with his biggest song on there being Red Swan, the AOT Opening. At the very least, these are artists who don't have recent success. Like Man with a Mission x Milet's Kizuna no Kiseki has already out-streamed and out-viewed each of these artists' biggest songs in less than a year on both Spotify and Youtube respectively - and this is the lowest performing opening from KnY.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't an attack on either artist, I'm just looking at this objectively based on the data. I'm VERY excited for this opening and to see what these artists do, especially given the song title and what the song's about. (Also people who've gone to see the movie already have been raving about it). I think some people are just wondering why ufotable isn't picking up the giants in the industry. To me it's pretty common sense: take the biggest anime in recent history and pair it with one of the biggest artists in recent history = Instant #1 and the biggest song of the year (or decade). It's clear to me that what they're trying to do is use KnY to bolster the popularity of these artists. Ufotable seems to have some deal with Sony Music JP, as all openings and endings have exclusively used artists signed under that label. Although oddly enough, MY FIRST STORY isn't signed under Sony Music, so this is the first time a non-Sony artist is doing an opening, but it is with HYDE who is a Sony Music artist so that might be why they were invited to be on it.

@JaysonNnN I might be missing something here as I haven't read the manga, but the mugen in the song 夢幻 means fantasy or visions, infinity is written 無限 and it's pronounced the same :)
