Sometimes I do. There are plenty of things in anime that go against my believes or sense of morality but I usually ignore it as long as its portrayed in a sensible way. Otherwise if its portrayal is weird or non sense then I can be a bit more judgemental.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

I think I subconsciously do. Maybe in most cases I do.

You should always apply your beliefs to anime.

In most cases, no. I prefer to enjoy the anime, what makes it unique, and the diverse moral implications of every entry. There are moments of questionable morality for sure, but most of the time fretting isn't worth it. I only really feel uncomfortable at an anime when something messed up shows up, such as extreme pedophilia & abuse or dehumanization acts coming from the "good guys" rather than the villains.

What is that even supposed to mean to be one who does that? This is far too vague.

Yes & no.

Yes: When characters commit mass genocide, you use your beliefs & values system to judge that action as immoral (or moral if you're a suicidal maniac).

No: That doesn't mean the story is bad, even if you disagree with the morals & lessons conveyed.

Beliefs as in what? Application of them meaning what?

Because a core part of my own beliefs is that everyone has different beliefs, whether varying slightly or radically, congruous or incompatible, and different reasons for doing so based on a different underlying material basis (ranging from socio-economic to neurological) and differing circumstances. Very much circumstantial morality in the postmodern vein. And in that light I can understand why anyone would think what they think, say what they say, or do what they would do, whether fictional characters in anime or any other medium or flesh and blood people in the "real" world. Whether or not I would personally undertake the same action in question or agree with or support it is completely irrelevant and doesn't matter whatsoever.

Not entirely sure what you’re getting at but if I’m rating a show, of course I’m going to apply my beliefs towards it rather than someone else’s.

Voted rarely but ultimately it depends on what you mean by "belief".

Not sure exactly what you mean by this but there's no way to engage with anything on Earth without applying your beliefs to it, purposely or not. Our morals, ethics, beliefs, etc. shape literally everything we do so naturally it'll affect what we watch and how we watch it.

I guess depending on the setting. If it's a setting where they'd have to kill each other, fight to survive, or a genre where it's different from the real world then.... Hell nah, I love seeing characters kill each other =w= However, if it's like a slice of life sh*t.. then maybe I would unconsciously apply my own beliefs.

There is no objectivity in art against the common belief that there is, and people won't be objective either, so you can't avoid it.
