If you want a serious answer
because he already died and he did not want to live any longer like a ghost
and there was no reason to after knowing his son's last name is fushiguro not zenin

he had absolutely no control.
it was just his body manifestation which was going after the strongest person in the room.
after megumi fooled toji with his shadow garden technique in the end, toji has a flashbacks of his kid who had the same technique and connects the dots. thats when his actual control comes back and he asks megumi his name. once megumi says it's fushiguro, toji is satisfied that his final wish of letting megumi stay away from the zenin family was made true he was okay with dying again

immune to what? cursed technique?
I'm actually still confused about how megumi managed to dodge toji's last attack. In manga it is explained that megumi submerges toji's foot in the shadow garden which makes him miss megumi's vital organs but in the anime it seems that they have animated it in a way that seems megumi submerges his own foot to dodge the attack

but i guess if a cursed technique is physically manifested, it should still affect toji. like how gojo's divergence technique doesn't allow toji to land hits on him and toji has to wait for gojo to turn off his technique.
