@EcchiGodMamster as far as I understand, main story still takes place in 90s but MC travelled to the past from our time.

Can't say I'm fond of the changes shown in the trailer compared to the manga, but I'll still give it a watch since I loved it a lot. I like the references sprinkled in the background like Kanon, ATRI, and Doukyuusei!!

Interesting. I don't know too much about the manga, but the anime is seemingly going to be its own thing. They added a time travel aspect, changed the main character, and are seemingly(?) reducing the more pornographic aspects of the bishoujo games they are making.
I just hope it'll still be an accurate depiction of the 90s bishoujo game scene, without making it all-ages. Back then those games were hard on erotic content.

The artsytle theyre using in the games is 2000s, not to mention the actual games like Kanon, so it'd be weird if it takes place in the 90s lol

What audience are they going for with all of these changes? It definitely isn't manga readers and the artstyle suggests not people even knowledgeable about 90's VNs or other bishoujo games either.

This reminds me of Bokutachi no Remake which I found really bad.. but I always find the concept (which is shared with this anime) interesting: time travel + game making. So I hope this one does it well.

@Hoppy

don't you know?

how else are people going to be enticed to buy the BDs if they don't first piss people off by changing half the content?

@EcchiGodMamster There would be no point in making this anime if it took place in the 2000s. The 90s is where the bishoujo game boom took place. "Kanon" being shown is probably from before the time slip took place.

The changes are necessary,by itself the manga cant stand.Take it as an anime original.

Wakaki has been brought back to the surface after 10 long years....
