| I hope the director continues this as a passion project like Shuhei Yabuta did for Vinland Saga by shifting from WIT to MAPPA. Toshimasa Ishii is a really gifted Director and I'd love to see his second season of 86. Anyways it's only been a year since the 2nd cour, there's still time for an announcement and I'm actually expecting one cuz this was one of A1's more popular shows anyway, and I don't see why it wouldn't get a second season. Much less popular anime have got 2nd seasons (MAL Data) with pristine quality and afaik the anime was well received in Japan. |

| tbh i think its possible but as you said it has slim chances. Plus if they do i think its going to take some time since A1 has a lot of projects and they still have the mess with the delays like nier. Plus me personally if they make a s2 and they dont keep the same staff and director of s1, i would rather they dont make a s2 if im being honest. |
| I really hope so!!! The production value alone tells you everything you need to know on how great this show is!!! People forgot that the last episode of season 2 was delayed & released specifically on the date where Lena & Shin met again!!! & i think its because of this delayed release that its blu ray sales are affected!!! & knowing A-1, If its a show that is not as successful like Kaguya, I doubt theyll make a new season out of this!!! Season 2's ending is a great ending done correctly in the adaptation!!! & sadly, A-1 did that so that the adaptation will just end there!!! & yes, Im currently still reading the LN!!! |

| I agree, the lack of revenue proves as a huge disincentive for the studio. However the only saving grace that I can seem to see is that recently A1 pictures have started a lot of huge projects and a lack of staff may be the reason why they’re unable to make season 2. If this is the case, there’s still a chance that s2 could be announced when some of these projects (such as solo levelling) have been released. I’m not a light novel guy but if there’s no news at all within the next year or so I might have to just read the LN. Anyways here’s to hoping for an S2 |
