Simply straightforward but it's very charming in how it relays the message of appreciating life through subtle romance in the end. Solid 7/10.

It's very well done in how the male protagonist Tatsumi is a uncaring guy who doesn't want to waste his time on anything but studying, which we later learn is because he's pressured from his strict mother to be successful so he can inheret his father's company.
Meanwhile, the alien Moru who's planet is so perfect yet dull through the capacity of having anything through a simple means like a press of a button or a pill for nutrition, she adores viewing and experiencing earth with inspiration.

So much so that as energetic as she is, when Tatsumi starts ignoring her after his mother finds out he wasn't studying on the weekends when she found his dolphin strap which they bought together in the aquarium, Moru sacrifices her privilege to stay on Earth by taking him into space with the view of earth to make him see and understand how beautiful and worthy the world is to live by and not take for granted compared to her effortless of management dull looking planet.

After she gets sent back to her planet, realizing his mistake and feeling guilty, he declares his own dream to his mother, and years later becomes a researcher, visiting Moru in her own planet as she was close to resuming to her original alien form, still looking at Earth off the distance. They reunite.

Great story.
The art overall, clothing and character-design is beautiful as well.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
