How is this show so low rated

Honestly I don't understand how this show is only rated 6.98/10
The comedy is really good, the animation is awesome, characters are well developed and lovely, the VA is perfect and the ost + OP and ED are really good and for me it's a solid 8-8.5/10.
I watched some animes that were much more terrible but much higher in score
This one should at least rated 7.5/10

P.S : score is totally not important but for people who want to watch it the score could make them think it's not that good

it's gone down loads since it's aired holy shit. I remember it being 7.4-7.6. I think anime has grown so much since it aired especially users on MAL. A lot of newer fans have way more picky taste usually very prone to cringe (for example shikimori's reception) and this show was probably too much for them. I personally loved this show it was silly and fun to watch for me too.

And I agree i think once an anime reaches below a 7 it's very unlikely people will give it a chance (unless it's a classic like school days)

On a serious note, I think it still has quite high score for that kind of show.
I enjoyed it and think it deserves 7,5 as well.

Because people don't think what you think about it.
It was cringe instead of being funny, the animation was horribly choppy, sound mixing was kinda painful and overall tempo made the thing incredibly boring.
I also vaguely remember it being inconsistent or stupid at times, but honestly everything was so forgettable that I don't remember what exactly were my complaints about

i feel like this happens a lot with seasonals. Basement dwellers that watch anything even though they know they'll hate/dislike it but have to watch anime!!! (Because who the hell is watching this anime for a 9-10/10 show 😭) watch a new show rate it low and then shows will get robbed of any chance of attention because regular viewers won't bother with something rated below 7. So just for being 'mid' for a few people from the very start despite being decently entertaining a shows viewership can plummet.
Because anime 'fans' like this can't comprehend that some shows aren't for them.

I don't want anyone to misunderstand what I'm saying though. I'm not saying 'all anime is good but elitists ruin it for everyone!' I'm saying that I think early ratings on sites like MAL and Anilist could really be make or break for anime viewership. Which really isn't great because it has lead to some shows deciding they'll just start off stellar but get lazy and fall off later episodes on because studios realise that the start is what matters most. I feel like the only real remedy for this would be limiting ratings till a show finishes on the site for everyone. But hey I'm a hypocrite I'm part of the problem cus i rate everything while i watch too so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think a lot of people just don’t have a high tolerance for fanservice and ecchi stuff, and it turns them off from it, and makes them actively look down on it. Tbf, most fanservice heavy shows aren’t written well either, and this isn’t a masterpiece. I’d probably have rated it a 6 or 7 instead of an 8, but I’m a biology teacher and LOVE how accurate some of the stuff is (it KILLS ME that I can’t show this to my high schoolers like I do with Cells at Work!, but like, bruh, I’d rightfully lose my fucking job lol). The only shows I can think of where the comedy was so funny it outshone the ecchi was Girlfriend, Girlfriend, and the only one that used the ecchi to make deep, meaningful metaphors was Kill la Kill.

I agree though, I wish this show got more recognition, I’d love a second season.
