How far along is the manga , and how much further does it still have yo go for completion?

Anime watcher here ..

I've been reading alot of manga lately and I've always known of this one , but I know its on hiatus

How far along the overall story do you think this manga is , and how much further until completion?

It's not Hiatus as far as i'm aware, it's on a monthly release schedule in Afternoon which comes out around the 25th of every month.

Hmm as far as how much is left, it's hard to say I believe the author has said were in the last part of the story and it would take some time, and from where we are right now I can see it going on for a good few years more to wrap everything up, hope that helps.

We have at least 2 or 3 years before the end.

I believe each saga has been approximately 55 chapter long, being three in 166 chapters. The current is also the last saga, so expect it to have at leat 210 chapters in total, for which at least 2 years have to be left.
However don't take my word, I'm not up to date with the story so I'm not the best to see the bigger picture.

in 2019 the author said he plans to do 1000 pages at least for the finale

so that is 25 chapters at least for the final arc that is ongoing until now so the manga might end next year

so its basically in the final arc , but this final arc will still take another 2-3 years to complete ?

Yes. We have at least 20 or 25 chapters. So by the end of 2024 or the start of 2025, it will be over.
