Again with the coincidental overlap between what I've watched from the 2018 series (Episode 64) and this one, but this time with one of the more intense episodes. As with every other episode that had the yokai of the week reused for the 2018 version, this 1968 adaptation isn't as heavy hitting as that newer one, but the yokai here is just as menacing, fatally dehydrating everybody who wrongs the individual that frees him.

I feel that the 2018 adaptation did this better, as the yokai...


Here, it's just an overly destructive bodyguard. This original adaptation was meant to be more child-friendly though, so I guess it's a bit much to ask for such a dark plot here. It was still pretty good all things considered.
