Do you think Studio Pierrot would focus more of its budget towards Black Clover rather than Boruto or whatever? As far as I know the show was pretty low budget so far and had passionate but not very great animators.

Looking at the numbers, Boruto seems to be far more profitable so I can't blame them.

Boruto isn't that popular(I have a big amount of friends who are big fans of Naruto, but haven't watched Boruto), but makes a lot more money because of it's name and franchise, so I guess they would focus more on it instead of Black Clover

If MAL was a streaming platform then those numbers would have meant something but with piracy being so common they don't always translate to good sales.
Boruto is one of Shueisha's better performers while Black Clover has been selling.... ok but not great. It has been jokingly referred to as "Axe Clover" by a bunch of people due to its modest sales figures.

Boruto is objectively the better show so no.

That 5.8/10 rating would suggest otherwise lol doesn't mean I won't be watching it in the future though but the fact that Highschool dxd is rated higher doesn't fill me with much confidence

Wait do you mean that boruto sells more than black clover ?
If so then that's completely wrong , boruto has about 2 m copies in circulation and it's only getting worse month by month (the sales I mean) while Black Clover has more than 17 m copies in circulation and ig that makes it clear which is better

There’s a movie that does about 70 first episodes, then the rest you can watch all manga canon and avoid anime canon & filler

I already didn’t like Boruto and since Black Clover got screwed by them I bate Boruto even more. Black Clover could have been better than most shonen right now if they cared about it

studio pierrot always have similar animation and budgeting pattern. they improve their animation in areas where actionis high or the action is related to one of the popular character in the franchise. so may not affect budgeting for bc.

The Black Clover anime (and manga) is currently on hiatus to allow Yuki Tabata to publish more chapters, and to allow Studio Pierrot to adapt the final arc of Bleach, which has been on hiatus since 2012.

Black Clover, like Dragon Ball Super, had a standard to high budget (hence the 51 episode seasons, and 4 ops and eds per 4 cour season), however poor allocation or resources on the part of Studio Pierrot resulted in the Black Clover anime project being understaffed, meaning that they did not have as much time as they should have had to complete episodes.

All animators who work at a professional level in the Japanese animation industry at this level are both very skilled and very passionate, or they would not have gotten the job. Black Clover's poor animation quality is not a reflection on the skill of the staff, but instead on Pierrot's poor allocation of resources.

The animation is the only thing that holds me back from giving Black Clover a 10/10 I wish they would spend more time and money on it but unfortunately Boruto is more profitable so they will continue to focus on that.

The One Piece and Bleach anime adaptations are atrocious, I wouldn't recommend them at all, and Naruto is chock-full of filler and inconsistent animation too.

My rule of thumb is this: If a show runs longer than 200 episodes, you missed your chance to watch it.

That's what the manga's there for; you can read a 20 page chapter in 5 minutes or less (...One Piece only adapts 1 chapter per episode...), there's no filler, and most importantly it's uncensored (the Bleach anime cut entire plot points and parts of character arcs because they were too graphic for prime-time tv, as well as censoring most injury details).

the budget meme again 90+ percent of anime shows have the same budget you know

plus long running anime that have no breaks or not seasonal suffers from escalating tight production schedule or less production time like if some episodes today are done with overtime then there is less time to animate the next episode

enough time and talent is the main indicator of high production quality, and talented animators are rare this days due to the huge amount of anime being made so its not always about money or budget

Hmm interesting opinion. Thanks for letting me know!
