| Reading this manga was a bit difficult, considering the fact that it was made in the 1980s and a lot of the views held in the manga towards women are rather outdated. Sleeping Beauty was pretty interesting though. I liked the dynamics between the main character and his sister. I liked how he was okay with his sister (Ikuyo) sleeping with Popeye (his nickname), since American-Japanese relationships appeared to be frowned upon during this time. There was a pretty big reveal about Miyuki's origin of birth too. I didn't like the ending-- it felt as though the manga got axed. |
