In the anime, it's a one sided romance and it's in the background. Comedy and slice of life are center stage. The manga has a bit more romance towards the end but again, romance is not the main genre or plot to the story.

It can't be called romance either. But if u follow the comic, there is a scene where Tanaka starts to feel nervous about Shiraishi, or Miyano's lil brother who likes Tanaka's lil sister. Ah..Echizen to Ohta too. Even though it all ended in one-sided love...
