| If I like it when I watch it I’ll definitely give it a high rating. I love shows that are confusing and deeply psychological so this might be right up my alley |

| Look at it from another perspective: this show is just as weird as it gets. The definition of Dementia tag. People are going to misunderstand the essence of the show and when you don't understand it, it's hella boring. |

| I don't think so. When i watched it it was 8.04 and just recently it hit 8.06 before dropping back for some reason. | It's not for everyone so it makes sense it isn't rated higher. High ratings are just an indicator of broad appeal. They don't actually assess quality, which is subjective and can't be measured by a number. Lain is an ambiguous, open ended slow burn, which many find to be boring and confusing. That's not to say it's a flaw in the series, it's by design. But it is alienating to most viewers, which is why the show can only ever have a niche audience, even within the already niche anime community. |
