| Watch the first 2 seasons of the original digimon, there are Digimon in season 2 that the main characters will use in the reboot. But the way they digivolve in the remake is very different than what they did in the original. I enjoyed up to season 4, didn’t care for savers, Xros Wars, or App Universe, not sure how I will feel about Ghost Game. I may or may not go back to those previous seasons. |
| The original is much better than 2020. 02 is kinda meh. It's got a lot of 'we have no clue how we want things to go in the overall plot' feel. If you want, Tamers might be more interesting since it was directed by the guy that did Lain. Also, Ghost Game had a fun starting off point. If you do watch the originals, do NOT watch Tri. Waste of your time. |

| I did not manage to go very deep into the 2020 reboot. The beginning already threw me off, but after the weird start it became a bit better. However, it was still nowhere near the charm of the original show. The animations and battles are cool and we see more evolutions in the reboot, but the original had so much more impact. The feeling when a Digimon finally achieved a new form after a long struggle on an epic adventure was beyond the mediocre drama they put on in 2020 imo. |
