| I thought i knew what all the different anime types were, we have TV, movies, OVAs, specials, and ONAs... what's an ONA? I initially thought ONAs were anime shorrts (like 5 min episodes), but i've come across ONAs with episodes 15 to 20 mins long So what is an ONA? What differences does it have from TV and OVAs?? |

| ONA (original net animation) are anime that are directly released onto the internet. While OVA's are specially made for release in home-video formats (like Dvd's and blu-ray's). ONA's also don't have the backing of a broadcast network, so they are not aired on TV. |
