This volume truly was a signal that this was the beginning of the end for the story as a whole. The SciFi and storyline isn't still my cup of tea but at least I'll admit that I liked some of the over-the-top cliches of this book, like all the absurd references to The Final Countdown or how Shinichi and Minori had to pull off Fullmetal Alchemist and Dragon Ball references to convince an American otaku soldier that they're from their world (enjoyed these version of references more than when they were just gifted their abilities to conveniently kick ass), and of course the Star Wars reference by the end too. That slight meta element was nicer than how it was present in previous volumes. The storyline still feels too rushed and cluttered and out of sync with the concept of the series for my liking, but this wasn't a boring volume by any means.
