| #ChikaAppreciationDay I loved this episode. The fanservice was amazing, boob physics were incredible. I thought Kaguya's boobs were smaller but I won't complain. I relate to Ishigami, it really does suck when they censor everything with steam but he has to learn how to appreciate those steam or light beam fanservice scenes. It was a based OVA. |

| Well, I never thought that there will be this much Fanservice in Kaguya Sama But still it has it's own plot and funny moments This ova clearly gives us - Fujiwara and Kaguya fan service - Shirogane and Ishigami comedy - Fujiwara riding a mountain bike - Ayasaka with Glasses - Kinda Ecchi scene b/w Fujiwara and Kaguya But this episode won't bore you... 4/5 |

| OK so this wasn't all boobs and ass like the trailer suggested. It was like one-third fanservice and the rest was normal Kaguya-sama hijinks without the story. I learned how to make a cappuccino and fried rice, somehow they made the latter into character development for Shirogane. Visually it looked fine, but the leaks were low resolution. The same soundtrack as the second season, with the OP and ED too. There should be subs in a week or so. Overall good 7/10 first episode. |

| So let us consider the fact that every Kaguya-sama episode is made up of several segments. I believe that if you compare this segment (which is technically an episode I suppose) to any other segment in the series, it is easily the worse one. Fanservice, at least when it's as blatant as this, does not mesh well with Kaguya-sama at all, OVA or not. While you could argue that the main series had fanservice at times, it never detracted from the core of the segment/episode and was at times subtle. This segment simply worked better in the manga where it didn't have to be fleshed out as much (though it still wasn't perfect even then). As a result, to pad the length of it, more fan service was included. Sure, the exaggerated physics of the girls getting out of the pool was funny at first, but it focused on them too long for it to remain funny. Kaguya and Fujiwara in the shower honestly felt uncomfortable, mostly in part to the identity of the series. All this aside, it simply was not as funny. It lacked the stylish direction of the main series. (This applies to all of the OVA segments, but the production values were noticeably lower here). Honestly, assuming that Aka Akasaka, the mangaka, did not play a large role in the production of this OVA, I feel sorry for him. He jokingly refers to the series as "a failure of a romcom as it has not contained a single panty shot" (in the form of meta-commentary). He always works to subvert these tropes but the way this segment/episode was executed betrays what he has done with the series so far. | Wasn't a fan of the fanservice at all, as the staff behind it really missed the joke. Alongside that, I am not a fan of the chapters they adapted in the OVA (except the cooking segment, which reminded me of the humor of the main series). Directing is pretty good as usual. However, the first half of the OVA is boring Season 3 is guaranteed to be great, no doubt, I just didn't like these chapters in the manga, and I don't like them in the anime counterpart as well. |
