Is this canon to the series/manga?

I'm planning to read the manga and I don't know where to start. Is everything that happened in S2 also in the manga?

Actually, from season 1 the anime had already changed from the original plot of the manga. The only canon (manga plot) anime versions would be The Book of Circus, The Book of Murder and lastly The Book of Atlantic. These three adaptations were from the arcs in the manga. I would highly recommended you to reread from the beginning. The manga plot is very good. Season 2 is also not canon just like season 1.

i actually think the manga is waaaay better than s2 so i definitely recommend you to read it instead, you could also go directly for book of circus, murder and atlantic which are canon

Once you see s2 you can find it helpful to understand what’s going on in Kuroshitsuji later. At least I can see some similiar plots
