Why is the rating so low

I am on ep 3 and I absolutely loved it and it might become my favorite sports anime like haikyuu but I wanted to know why no one even talks about this and why is the rating so so low

For me, the things that killed me were that the story wasnt good at all; the ending left a lot of things open; and there were a lot of repetitive action scenes as well as a not so good animation

It's because unlike anime like Haikyuu or Kuroko no Basuke, this anime never really explained the rules or plays well. Audience who know the the game already got invested while for the rest, it became stale.

i actually didn't like it because of the ending, also i've read the manga and the anime skips some of the most important parts and the story is really different

you're still in the good part of the anime, its later that the story and characters take a nosedive.

eh how come you think that the animation isn't good. The animation was one of the best in any sports anime and it is the only appealing point of this anime. I do agree that the story wasn't the best

the animation was basically just putting a lot of lights to give more emotion to the scenes. they focused so much on making the pretty scenes that they forgot the calm parts of the episodes where the animation itself was just mid. on top of that there were the repetitive scenes where they basically putted the girls doing the same actions they did on previous episodes or even in the same episode, like on the last game where they repeated one of those scenes THREE TIMES
still, it is for likes, and personally i didnt liked it

Because the drama was super on the nose and heavy handed. It's a shame cause the game scenes were amazing and the show did a fantastic job at building character and plays/techniques/strategies through the matches instead of outright explaining them, but everything outside the badminton was so tiring that you just disconnect after a while. I've seen the show to completion but I couldn't tell you at all how it ends.

It's a great sports showcase, it's just that the sport itself is only like 50% of the show and the other 50% is teenage melodrama rubbish. I'm pretty sure if you edited it to only have the badminton scenes, it'd be a better anime.

Also the mom is a bitch and I'm tired of the show trying to make me sympathise with her.

The show was great and the mother character was like a teacher to her daughter,i think people maybe be right about not explaining the rules but you get the basic by each episode by seeing it .if i have to say personally i didn't even bother to know the rules because the show itself was good

the badminton concept is ok but the unnecessary drama made me lose my insanity when the mc was acting like she's a pump up yandere who is about to beat other people to death, also the mc's mom is one of the worst mom ever. period.
