To the people who binged One Piece: How long did it take you to catch up?

So I am a person who recently got into the series and I want to be caught up to OP before the series hits 1,000 episodes.

So I want to know for all the people who got into the series late like I did after the show was already 100s of episodes in. How long did it take for you to get up to date?

I watched it early last year and it took me around 2 months to watch 900 eps while working full time.

The pacing had some issues but since I had the next episode always ready it was ok.

Now I'm just waiting for the latest arc to finish so I can binge it again since one piece is enjoyed better binged in my opinion

2 months to get from the start of skypiea to 891. I started skipping anime original arcs after episode 200 though. I watched the movie tie in episodes separately.

I caught up a few years ago and It took a few months but I was watching at a pretty inconsistent pace due to having a busy life at the time so I could have definitely caught up sooner if it weren't for that.

Wow i envy you guys, for me it took 2/3 years to get to episode 516, cause i was a kid watching anime on the computer, i had to take turn with my siblings so i was able watched 15 episodes a day, so i stopped and after 5 years i got a new phone then it took me 3 weeks to reach episode 900+

I binged it in march 2020. It took me 4 weeks to catch up (at the time around episode 920). I did skip the 99 total filler episodes so I technically watched ~821 ish episodes (26 episodes a day).

Pretty much my whole fucking summer, and that was only back when it was like 600 eps and I was a huge binger living and breathing anime. Can't imagine trying to catch up now lmao.

It will take about 360 hours assuming that you will spend 22 min 30 sec on each episode. Everyone has different situations. Some ppl can binge the whole thing in a month, others may not even finish after 2 years. You should make some simple calculations yourself in accordance to your own situation.

It took me about a month and a half the read the manga from start to the current time (early November to sometime in December). I was also watching a few anime and reading berserk and Tokyo ghoul I believe. It hard to imagine someone catching up to the 1-900 episode count in a month through. If someone were to jump in I’d say watch until the end of Enis lobby and read everything else because I would personally say after that the anime took a turn for the worst in terms of animation quality and pacing. However it’s not unwatchable or anything so either is fine.

Not for me but I remember my brother watching all of it in just a week. He told me he only skipped the openings and just the flashbacks. He watched 50 episodes a day. And he is currently at 893.

I took a break from One Piece after Dessarosa finished. I started rewatching from ep 1 at the start of Aug 2020 and was caught up around the time episode 944 aired (beginning of October).

Started around December with the anime and around fish man island I started reading the manga. I’m on chapter 800 so right before whole cake and I regularly took breaks like rn so I would say if you watch it it should take you like 2 months

1 month and 3 days, including the anime-original arcs. At the time, because of quarantine, One Piece went on hiatus and its latest episode was episode 929. Managed to catch up on the latest episode on my birthday. Also took breaks watching it to sleep in the afternoon.

I wouldn't recommend attempting to watch from the start and catch up within one month. You'd just exhaust yourself and possibly harm your body if you don't take breaks.

Its not much time if you skip the opening and recap at the start of the episode it's only 20 minutes on average , so for 20 episodes it would take about 20*20 / 60 = 6.666 hours

yeah that's literally impossible... 829 episodes is at least 12 days of watch time

I binged it back in 2019 and caught up in around a month, but that was since I had nothing better to do. Skipping some openings, filler and a lot of recaps helped too.

I watch around 5 episode everyday, plus since my exams have been going on i haven't done that in almost 3 weeks. I started in early December-2020. I'm on episode 323 right now where the post enies lobby stuff happens. Enjoying and loving it so far.
