I thought this was an episodic manga. It was nice that everything came together by the end.

Melting victims isn't overly entertaining, so I didn't exactly enjoy this manga from Junji Itou,
but the concept of the protagonist having a pact with a demon which causes people to die from their brains and body melting after he apologizes profusely is interesting.

Except there seems to be contradictions.
One in particular is the big brother's claim that his little sister was "normal" as a child, even though he also claims that as a toddler she licked her parent's oozing brain corpses after they died from an accident. The other claims from them both which they deny, is that she's a child from the demon and his mother, while he denies he's contracted with a demon.
Aside from death from melting, he can also turn people hideous to the point of almost looking like monsters if he profusely compliments the demon's beauty in the girl's direction.

It is interesting how disturbed he is for seemingly and truly being a masochist and a deranged guy overall like his little sister claims, that he enjoys apologizing to murder people, similar to how he killed animals as a child. There's also the fact that he brings his parents back to life by keeping their heads, and for whatever reason, for not letting them rest in peace and bodyless, they abuse him whenever they're reanimated.

There are some good concepts in this, but along with the somewhat bland action of victims dying from melting, what was more disappointing was how there was no character development in the end while the siblings keep running away from his murders.
I would have liked to see him expose himself as a sadist who enjoys killing. Finally cracking and admitting would have been an entertaining development.

The girl who loved him being able to track him and one of the only survivors was cool. Unfortunately, she was killed along with everyone else in the media.
Could have been better if there were more extraordinary curses, with character development from both siblings. 5/10.
