| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- This isn't the first time I have seen awful familiar betrayal and imprisoning flavored with compassion. Whether it is by bringing them their favorite food, or picking out books that they know the prisoner would love. I like that kind of detail, a warmth, a compassion at the heart of something so inhumane. It humanizes the inhuman. And that is so dang awesome. In that single act, you can see the conflict within the son. Seeing Gramps tear up and say reading was like having a conversation with his boy made me tear up too. |
