Anime Auction House (Challenge)

　Welcome to your very own Anime Auction House! We promise to bring the most interesting auction battles you have yet to see!

　The idea of this challenge is for us to enjoy all an auction has to offer, while applying it to one of our hobbies: anime. You will create and share a unique anime experience to "exchange" with someone else. To do so, you will be classified in two groups. After that it will work similarly to HiScore and LoScore since you will be given a certain amount of time to complete your chosen anime list.

🟣 DEFINITIONS

Auctioneer
　— Official host for the round sent by the Federal Committee of Worldwide Anime Auctions.
　— They will be working with the Lenders to present their offers anonymously, as well as their decisions before releasing the public data.
　— You will learn their identity and how to contact them once a new round is released.
Informant
　— Member of the Black Market for insider information about the Lenders' part of an Anime Auction round.
　— They provide insider information on certain Lender's completed lists, based on the Lender's preferences.
　— They will check up to half of the Lenders' lists per Collector each round. Meaning that if there are 4 Lenders, they will check up to 2 for you.
　— They will only reply with the titles of anime the Lender has completed. Once the Collector has a list with viable options, they can no longer talk to the Informant.
　— If the Informant replies that none of the Collector's choices are unwatched, the Collector can talk to them again.
　— You will learn their identity and how to contact them once a new round is released.
Lenders
　— Participant that will lend their experience (note that it CAN be your joys, sorrows or a mix of both).
　— They have the right to pick their Collector each round (it will be anonymously at first, later shared).
　— They can't be a Lender twice consecutively, but this will depend on the members and their roles of the last round. If the situation occurs, the repeat Lender will be chosen randomly.
　— Each Lender's list will be initially anonymous, make sure to help on this and don't spread which one is yours.
Collectors
　— Participant looking for "a fix" to their addiction habits (at your own risk).
　— They will be making an attractive offer to catch the Lender's attention. You can create them with a specific person in mind.
　— There's a chance they will be a Collector consecutively.
Bids
　— A Collector's offer of three anime titles.
　— Your aim is to make the best bid/offer you can and win the best Lender.

🟣 HOW-TO / EXPLANATION

This challenge will have irregular releases, since it will take time and effort to organize. There's no set time for when they will be available.
Only one Lender can be paired per one Collector (and vice-versa).
Each round will have different stages which will occur in a timely manner, as per announcements from the Auctioneer.
1. Announcing members of each side.
2. Publishing the Lenders' offers.
3. Allowing the Collectors to post their offers.
4. Period for Lenders to think of their decision.
5. Publishing of final pairs.
All anime for which you are bidding for, can't be completed, but you are allowed to watch previously started series.
　— This means that when you are looking to win an offer (anime listing), it can't be one with all titles previously completed by you.
　— But you can accept an offer that has titles which are less than 50% of the total episodes watched by you.
　　• For example, if you dropped an anime at 3/13 eps it would be okay; 6/13 eps wouldn't be okay.
　— This must be stated when bidding for/accepting an offer.
You will only need to complete one (1) anime to complete the round. (See special notes)
All anime used will have cool-downs, to avoid each round being of the same titles. (See special notes)

🟣 OFFERS RULES (Not following the rules will make your offers void.)

Each offer will consist of three (3) titles, previously completed by you:
　— 1 Movie (50 minutes or more long), OVA/Special of 5 episodes or less (reg length) || OR || 1 short series (15 minutes or less per episode)
　— 1 TV/ONA series of 11 to 15 episodes (reg length = 20+ mins per ep)
　— 1 TV/ONA series of 20 to 24 episodes (reg length)
You should state the anime title as it appears on MAL's database. You have to link them.
Your offers CAN'T contain:
　— Anime tagged as Hentai, Yaoi or Yuri.
　— Anime that is a sequel (or something that requires watching a prior title) unless the prior season can be included on the list.
Your offers as Collectors can be made to appeal a Lender.
　— Meaning that you can offer a Lender the opportunity to watch an anime they are interested in, based on their preferences.
Your offers as Lenders should include notes of what you are in the mood for (very briefly).
　— Your offers and decisions will be managed by the Auctioneers each round, to keep anonymity.
　— After the final pairings, we will publish who is with whom. Make sure to help and don't spread which one is yours.
All anime can be used twice per 10 participants each round. We will go in posting order to know who will be allowed to keep them.
　— Identical listings will be made void and rejected.
　— We reserve the right to ask participants to change their offers.

🟣 BIDDING RULES (Not following the rules will make your offers void.)

If a Collector bids out of turn, it will be void and deleted.
After each Collector has posted their bids, the Lenders will be able decide who they want.
The Collectors have to post their offers addressed to only one of the Lenders.
　— If a Collector doesn't like any of the Lender's lists, they can willingly join the Ink Pool.
Any rejected/ignored Collector/Lender will join the Ink Pool. (See special notes)
ONCE AN OFFER HAS BEEN POSTED, it can't be edited. Otherwise it will be made void.
　— In case you made a mistake, ask the Auctioneer about it before editing.
If it's discovered that a Lender and a Collector made contact before the offers were posted, they will be banned from participating for several rounds. The round in which happened will be made void and invalid for them. They won't be able to complete it. If it's discovered later, the earned level will be deducted.
Keep in mind that your aim is someone from the opposite group. You shouldn't target someone on your side (for example, Lender x Lender / Collector x Collector).

🟣 TIME PERIODS

One (1) week for sign ups.
　— A day or so might be added/removed to have even pairs.
After the week is up, sides will be announced.
　— Lenders will have three (3) days to send their offers via PM in MAL.
After mentioned, all Collectors will have up to seven (7) days to post their bids.
After mentioned, all Lenders will have three (3) days to accept/reject the Collector's offers (if any) via PM in MAL.
　— In case that a Lender/Collector has been ignored (not selected by anyone), they will be sent to the Ink Pool.
After approved and final pairs have been announced, everyone will have 14 days to watch their lists.
　— You should wait till the announcement to start watching your anime.

🟣 SPECIAL NOTES

You only need to watch one of the anime listed on your won offer to complete the round.
Full Lot:
　— Chance to watch all three (3) titles on your won offer for the round.
　— This will be allowed ONCE every four (4) rounds that you participate, for additional points.
　— Time allowed won't change, so you will have 14 days as well for this.
Ink Pool:
　— Lot of ignored/rejected Lenders and/or Collectors. These users will be paired at random.
　— If your partner from this lot has series which you have completed, contact/mention the Auctioneer so we assign you a new title that you haven't completed.
Anime Cool-downs:
　— All anime used can't be selected again for 2 more rounds. (Used on round 1, can't be used till round 4)
　— If as a Collector you use an anime on this list and don't fix it on time, you will go to the Ink Pool. (Will still need to fix it)
No options to watch as a Lender:
　— If all the anime you were offered has been already completed by you, you will have two options. You can request a Revision or Reject it.
　— If a Revision is requested, the Collector will need to swap as requested by an Auctioneer.
No options to watch as a Collector:
　— Post indicating this. An Auctioneer will negotiate with any Lender left that wasn't picked, so they propose a new offer.

Notice from the Black Market
Regarding the Informant
Due to several Collectors not reading the instructions provided by the Informant and submitting requests that must be sent back, the Black Market will now give out strikes for giving their agent requests that violate the long-standing rules. The strikes will be cumulative, meaning that they will carry over from one round to the next. The following explains the strikes:

　— First Strike - Collector receives a warning from the Informant (and maybe a knuckle sandwich).
　— Second Strike - Collector takes an immediate trip to sleep with the fishies in the ink pool.
　— Third Strike - Permanent vacation. Collector is no longer allowed to participate in the Auction House.

To make sure you don't get disappeared, use the form below when sending a request to the Informant:

🟣 HOW-TO / EXAMPLE

🟣 Example for Lender:

I sign up for the Anime Auction House challenge and then wait for the challenge to begin.
After sign-ups are closed, I will be assigned either the Lender or Collector role. This time, I am assigned to be a Lender.
As a Lender, I will be doing my best to make a list of 3 anime that I believe would be appealing to the Collectors. The list of Collectors is viewable to me, so it is possible that I can craft my list to be desirable to a particular person. However, when my list is posted, it will be anonymous. Therefore, if my list does not catch the attention of the Collector I aimed for, there is a risk no one else will bid on it and I will be sent to the Ink Pool to be randomly paired up.
I consult the Offer Rules so I know what types of anime are allowed on my list. Instead of going for a more niche list towards a particular Collector, I go for some lesser know, but still somewhat popular series that should be generally appealing. Using the form, I send my list via PM to the Auctioneer along with a very brief description of the type of series I would like to watch and then wait.
After all the other Lenders have completed their lists, the Auctioneer will anonymously post all of the Lenders' offers. Now I wait for the bids to roll in.
In the case that no one bids on my list, I am sent to the Ink Pool and will be randomly paired up with a participant who was also unsuccessful. However, I am in luck! Two Collectors have created lists for me and I will decide if I want to take one of the offers or I can volunteer to be sent to the Ink Pool.
I decide to choose one of the lists offered up from the Collectors and send that decision via PM to the Auctioneer. That Collector wins my list and may choose from it now. The other Collector is sent to the Ink Pool.
Now, I pick a series from the list and watch it!

🟣 Example for Collector:

I sign up for the Anime Auction House challenge and then wait for the challenge to begin.
After sign-ups are closed, I will be assigned either the Lender or Collector role. This time, I am assigned to be a Collector.
As a Collector, I must wait for the Lenders to complete their offers first before I can bid on their lists. The lists will be posted by the Auctioneer anonymously, therefore I will not know which list is from which Lender.
The Auctioneer posts the Lender's offers and I see one with a couple of great suggestions. The description the Lender left concerning what they would like to watch it also easy for me to fulfill. I decide on trying to win this particular Lender's offer and start to create my list.
I make a list of 3 anime following the Offer Rules, but it would be very risky to post the offer without first paying a visit to the Informant.
The Informant is an insider that I can submit my list to along with an indication of which Lender(s) I am trying to win over. The Informant will do some digging and return to me with the names of any anime on my list that the Lender(s) have already seen. If the Informant returns my list and all 3 anime are completed by the Lender, I can submit my list again once I revise it. If the Informant returns my list and there is at least one viable series, they will not talk to me again. It's also good to remember that the Informant will check up to five of the Lenders' completed lists if I so wish.
After speaking to the Informant and ending up with a list that has at least one unwatched series on it for the Lender I'm trying to win over, I submit my final bid by posting on the thread when I am given the go ahead by the Informant.
Now I wait and see. The Lender will either accept my bid or reject it. If accepted, I win their list and get to watch what I choose from it and they will choose something from the list I made to watch. If rejected, I will be sent to the Ink Pool to be randomly paired with a participant that was also unsuccessful.

　　• Meaning that if you participate in round 1, 2, 4, 6, then you will be able to complete this in one of those rounds.
　— Time allowed won't change, so you will have 14 days as well for this.

Full Lot Special Note:
　— If in the span of the four rounds you don't have a chance for a full lot, you are allowed to request a revision to make this possible during the last one.
　　• For example, you didn't get the chance in rounds 1 to 3, the fourth one is the last and you don't have the option there neither. That's when you can ask for this.
Ink Pool:
　— Lot of ignored/rejected Lenders and/or Collectors. These users will be paired at random.
　— If your partner from this lot has series which you have completed, contact/mention the Auctioneer so we assign you a new title that you haven't completed.
