I have no doubt that kimetsu has a chance to beat one piece again in 2020, as normally backlog of a new hot series don't dry up in just a year. It will probably soon start selling a million per volume as well.

would love this thread to keep updated, since it easier to use than arlongpark or mangahelper forum.

KNY is pretty much already a million seller, seeing as volume 17 stood at 990k last week. But yeah, we might know very soon if it'll be #1 again this year. It just needs to keep this level of sales for 2 to 3 more weeks.

Well, I don't think I'll be doing weekly sales lists though since we never did that in this club before. This is moreso like an estimate of what the half-year and yearly rankings looks like after x weeks. I'll be using for that the weekly and monthly sales(by volume and by series) provided by oricon. That is what ejc used to do befor she went.

Though, if I may ask, why do you consider the arlong park forums hard to navigate? I can understand for mangahelpers since the data is scattered in various pages but at least, few enough people post in that arlong park thread that it's almost uninterrupted.

maybe because i am unused with arlong park forum, it's also quite there so very few reason to check it up.

also about KnY sales, the thing is, the tankubon is very behind with magazine release, like 4 volume worth. so even if kny end next week, they still could pump 4 volume for next year. there is very high chance shueisha, riding with popularity, release 5-6 volume for this year.

So yeah I finally got around to updating this up to the week ending ending February 23. The most striking thing here is Kimetsu no Yaiba which is pretty much destroying every possible Oricon record right now. It's currently selling twice as fast as One Piece 2011 which is still the current record year for a manga (with just under 38m). Needless to say, KnY will defintely take that record and there's even an outside chance it does it by mid-year. It is about to surpass AoT's best selling volumes from its peak years which sold around 2.3-2.4 million units (including limited editions) from 2013-2014. The question is, where does it stop? 50m? 60m? When will demand be satiated? Can it reach 3 million per volume? Can it surpass One Piece's volume record (~3.38m)? Only time will tell.

Kinometsu no Yaiba road to 70 million(or more) total sales, let's go!

The movie will be releasing this year so that might spike the sales again.

Let's fucking go baby, Kimetsu has 80 million copies in print as of today. Road to 100+ million sales is what I'd love to see next.

So the data is now final, and as expected Demon Slayer obliterated every record that ever was.

Also, One Piece is neither first nor second for the first time since 2006.
