| From watching episode 1 you can be very puzzled about the character development and the base story on where it's going and why. I highly advise you to watch this https://myanimelist.net/anime/4151/Blade_of_the_Immortal before touching this new rushed up remake. or if you have enough time, you can read https://myanimelist.net/manga/658/Blade_of_the_Immortal It will clear up most of your confusion on anything that you feel is out of place or make you feel uneasy. e.g. Ep2 the girl with the ball scenery has more background story than what was shown. |

| I wouldn't recommend watching the old anime. It's pretty crappy and might turn people off of watching the new adaptation, which - while not flawless by any means - is much, much better. I also don't think the new anime is hard to follow without knowing the manga, the old anime, or the live action movie (tested on my bf, my mother, and a couple of friends). I definitely would recommend reading the manga, though! |
