I'm sorry but to me this ep was hella dumb. The origin story of the village is just bonkers.

They were astronauts who crashed on an island, had kids, and all died not even a decade later leaving small children to fend for themselves hoping they would remember and retell the stories.

And somehow that worked.

I-

Ok.

This episode is SO bad, I don't know if i should laugh or cry.

The story after they landed is just hilariously disappointing. A group of elite astronauts crash in a village but do not think of walking some more to find food, medicine and clothes from villager's houses there....
They just have to stick to the fucking ocean and eat what is found there. Also leave the revival of humanity in the hands of some high school kid they have never met, than investigating the situation themselves. THIS MAKES NO SENSE.

Because of this episode, I lost interest in whole series. Forget about wrong portrayal of science, this series doesn't even have a proper story.

This was a pretty emotional episode. The art of that scene after Shamil’s death where Byakuya was at their tombstones & looking up in the sky at the debris of the space station falling down was really good & made me sad.

Not perfect storytelling & hopefully more would be explained later on but it still got me in the feels. From Connie & Shamil’s union to their deaths & Senkuu taking it all in that Byakuya has been long gone. He doesn’t usually show much emotions but he was clearly sad about it. He can only move on with the faith & hopes that they all have in him.

After all of that heavy stuff, Tsukasa has gotta be the most uninteresting thing about this story lol. Well at least we’ll see Taiju & Yuzuhira again!

but i’ll probably remember over and over again
you were there and everyone else was there

Byakuya is one hell of a dad. This ep was a powerful one, damn.

Can't get over how him and Senku are not blood-related tho, tf? They deadass look the exact same, especially with their unique leek ass lookin hair. Like, bruh... c'mon now lmao

damn, if anime made me tear out, that means the anime is pretty good. lol

two important points i have takes from this small arc:
1. senka isn't biological children to byakuya, it probably gonna be treated in the future of the story
2. the other two parents went off, it's probably not the end of them

oh and, tsukasa coming back.
and i actually missed taijiru, hoping to see him.

From what has been shown, it implies then that the people of Ishigami Village are descended from everyone except Lillian and Byakuya who apparently had no children.
I really liked the story behind the village and the name of the village, it was very well done and very impactful.

Byakuya being the best ever dad someone can ask for... man that surely hit home. Last two episodes being the best ones we had.
And no one's tearing up.. nah no one i swear.

"It was just pneumonia." The abject situation of post-petrification survivors can be summed up in this sentence. This shows just how useless mere theoretical knowledge is without the resources and technology.
“Why does an apple fall when it is ripe? Is it brought down by the force of gravity? Is it because its stalk withers? Because it is dried by the sun, because it grows too heavy, or because the boy standing under the tree wants to eat it? None of these is the cause.... Every action of theirs, that seems to them an act of their own free will is in the historical sense not free at all but is bound up with the whole course of history and preordained from all eternity.”

A pretty touching moment, love Senku's dad and good father figures in anime in general.

But damn that's a very shallow gene pool lol

I was absolutely convinced that Byakuya was Senku's dad, so discovering he's not, especially when they look so much alike, caught me off guard. However, there's this nagging feeling that maybe, just maybe, they originally intended Byakuya to be Senku's father from the get-go. Their designs are eerily similar, making it hard to believe they're unrelated by blood. Then again, they might've tweaked the plot to sidestep potential complaints from those who don't grasp how ancestry genetics work, especially if Senku ends up with Kohaku.

Another head-scratcher for me was why both the doctors decided to embark on a seemingly suicidal mission together. Wouldn't it have been more logical to ensure at least one of them stayed alive? I can't help but wonder if Senku will make his way to South America eventually, considering that's where the green light originated. The curiosity is eating at me—I need to know what really went down!

It was a good episode but I can't help but laugh at the idea of 3700 years of inbreeding in a tiny gene pool.
@SpaceCowboyFin LITERALLY. I couldn’t stop thinking about this. Like they eventually lead up to incest 😃😃😃
