Season 2 will stream on Crunchyroll in the Fall 19 season:
https://www.crunchyroll.com/en-gb/anime-news/2019/08/28/legend-of-the-galactic-heroes-die-neue-these-second-premieres-at-crunchyroll-expo-2019

https://www.crunchyroll.com/en-gb/anime-news/2019/09/18-1/crunchyroll-announces-fall-2019-anime-lineup

It seems the films will be cut into episodes, but not broadcast in Japan, for obvious reasons:

Now this is one of the rules for a MAL entry to be accepted, so unless they bend the rules there will be no way to track our viewing (apart from maybe adding a film every 4 episodes!)

I plan to add the movies after every four eps, not sure on the whole MAL process, but with the Fooly Cool series Alternative and progressive, they aired first in the US as a series then in Japan later as movies, and MAL let us keep track of them as series for a bit but when it was confirmed to be released as movies in Japan changed it over to just being movies. So you can longer keep track of the series. So from how they handled the new FLCL I assume they just prioritize how its released in Japan rather than the West.

Well if you're selling tickets for a film (and also the Blu-rays at the screenings) then you wouldn't want people seeing it for free on the TV at the same time!
I guess they'll make an appearance on TV in Japan at some point though.

So in Japan they bundled several episodes into a film, like they did with Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2202: Ai no Senshi-tachi? Makes sense then.

I haven't watched any of it yet (I'll watch 4 at a time like a film), so I'm not sure if each episode feels like an episode or just stops!
I watched Black Fox the other day and you could tell it was supposed to be released as episodes as every 24 minutes or so there was an event that felt a little like an end of episode event.

I think it should be handled like Fafner the Beyond series. It's the same as LotGH case. 12 episodes screened in theaters, just that in Fafner's case it's screened 3 episodes at the time instead of 4. So have the type set as a movie but episode count at 4 for each entry.

What about this entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/40494

Is this the one corresponding with the chapters that are now airing?
I tried to add it but it wont let me do it, not even as a plan to watch.
Guess I Will just add the movies.
