| Bots are on a rampage. Many things(anime and manga) are being attacked constantly. Especially the shows at the top are getting low in rankings suddenly. For Violet evergarden i think it may be due to 2 things: 1. Bot attacks, which is disgusting 2. Hate on KyoAni works, which is way more/extremely disgusting. |

It affects almost every anime, but it's even worse for some (Gintama, Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu, Shingeki no Kyojin Season 3 Part 2...) - they're used in the "battle" for top rated seasonal animes. The "battle" is currently between 3 animes : Vinland Saga, Mo Dao Zu Shi 2 and Symphogear XV, which are all around 8.56. The thing is, bots only downvote heavily MDZS2 and now SXV because they surpass Vinland Saga's score. It already happened multiple times : each time a new MDZS2 episode is released, score gets higher but is after spammed with 1s to make the score drop. If there weren't any bot accounts, MDZS2's score would be above 8.80. But since MDZS2 and SXV are far less popular than Vinland Saga, only a few 1s can make their score drop - the bots also troll the new anime movies in general. Just take a look at the other ones : Konosuba movie, Tenki no Ko, One Piece Stampede and of course Violet Evergarden Gaiden. I "trust" these 4 movies, and I perfectly know they're REALLY good, so that saddens me a little to see their score that low, but I came to do not care about it since I know their qualities, and this artificial low score certainly won't prevent me from watching them Of course, I hope MAL will make a move, a strong one, against the bots. Banning all of them, so all MAL scores can get back to normal, more or less. Also, shoutout to the mod that will lock this thread : you're locking thread where people discuss normally, they don't bother anyone, unless the bots. I don't see the point of closing threads complaining about bots, instead of just taking down the bots efficiently. If you lock this thread, give a proper reason instead of a lame "Meaningless or off topic discussions aren't to exist" or a thing like that. The forums aren't even really active but you keep closing topics. That's kinda stupid. |

| You'd think if they have an obvious case of bot spamming going on (such that they have such a significant influence), they'd just remove all the 1/10 scores, and freeze the score until the automatic system deals with them. As much as handling each bot individual must be "beyond their resources", surely they can temporarily fix the score for anime series until the issue sorts itself out. That said, the bot here is being pretty insensitive by actively and very maliciously attacking the work of KyoAni at this time. If it helps, without the bot accounts the score would be around 8.74. |

| Probably because someone posted in reddit that they cried during the second half of the movie and it offended some thirteen year old in MAL? Dunno really. Whoever I talked with in other boards, reddit and irc seemed to have really enjoyed it while others loved it. |
