Question about Sentarou during the finale

I just finished the anime (thought it was great, loved it), but i just have one question about Sentarou. Why did he leave ?? He was already planning on leaving around the time his "dad" coming back. And then he just disappeared after they cried together on the roof lol.

So is there a reason as to why he left?? Was it because he feel responsible for what happened to his sister?? If thats so, why was he planning to leave before they got into that accident?

The reason why he decided to leave before was because he thought he had no place in that family (as you know his father hated him after the grandmother died)

But this changed after the fight outside the house and his father gifting him a pen.

But after accident he thought that he was fated to bring unhappiness to those around him (because of the trauma he suffered in childhood about being "a child of shame" as said by his grandmother)

This he removed his cross symbolically removing his ties with everyone

I guess could it be maybe as the predecesor commentarist said, but I have another hypotesis and it's related with the christianism.

We believe in promises of faith that can make miracles happen.
I believe that he made a promess with god, that while his sister will be save and live, he'll give his life to god and and he will pay the favor by being a priest.

But at the same time for this he should leave everyone and let off music too.

And thats why he never could came back and play the battery again or even say something about what was he planning do.

In our religion we believe on sacrifices to appreciete favors from the lord and settle up them too.
Of course this is my opinion because my religion it's shown on this show.
